Failure is not the opposite of success.
It’s actually standing still.
Imagine what it would be like if you took a chance on that idea that’s been swirling around your head for the last year.
Whether it’s starting a new business, taking a year off to travel, or learning to crochet. Whatever your idea is, it can be life-changing.
When you stand still and feel stuck, that feeling is far worse than failure. At least with failure, you know you tried. You may have regrets, but you can stop asking what if I had tried.
Living like you are stuck is far worse.
I can’t speak for everyone, but I love change. It took me a while, but now I embrace it as something I need. Change is something I crave.
Because in my mind staying still is possibly the worst thing I can do for myself.
When I’m standing still, I’m letting opportunities go by.
It can mean standing still when others are moving forward.
It can mean a pile of regrets that I will never get a chance to fix.
Even if you’re content now with where you are, take a chance; the best thing that can happen is that it works.
The second-best thing that can happen is that you fail.
Failure means you tried.
When you say you have failed at something, it means you tried. You tried to learn that new skill, build that new venture, or take on a new sport.
When you try, you have memories that you can remember for the years to come.
Failure shows you’re willing to take a risk
If you failed, it means you are able to take a risk.
When you take a chance on your idea, you see that you’re able to get the journey started. You did what so many others couldn’t — start something new.
Failure shows that you want things to change.
If you started something, but you failed, it’s okay. You realize you wanted to get somewhere. You wanted to move forward. You aren’t content with the status quo.
